Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri revealed that he has been assured by the club board that Callum Hudson-Odoi will not be going anywhere this month. The 18-year-old winger has been strongly linked with a switch to Bayern Munich after the German club’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed their interest earlier this month.Chelsea have reportedly turned down three bids from Bayern and a transfer request from Hudson-Odoi himself. The youngster is understood to be frustrated with his role at Chelsea this season with just 61 minutes of Premier League action under his belt, despite starring in cup games. But a delighted Sarri is confident now that Hudson-Odoi will be going nowhere and expressed his satisfaction with the young star’s development.“The club told me in this window he will remain with us for sure, and very probably also in the next,” said Sarri on the club website. “I am very happy with this.“I don’t have the power to sign new contracts here. On the pitch, I am really very happy with him. He is improving. He will be the future of our club, and the future of English future.“I am not frustrated. As I said before, on the pitch he is doing very well, in training and in matches.Chelsea hat-trick hero Tammy Abraham hopes for more Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Tammy Abraham hopes this season will be his big breakthrough at Chelsea after firing his first hat-trick for the club in Saturday’s 5-2 win at Wolves.“I am very happy with him, I’m not very happy with the situation, of course, but I know very well every big team here in England has the same problem. He added: “It’s not easy to keep these young players.“He is, of course,e one of the best 18-year-olds in Europe, so it’s very difficult, but the club told me he is out of the market for sure [now], and probably he will be out of the market in July.“I don’t know if he is happy with that, but I can say what I see on the pitch. And on the pitch at the moment he is fantastic.”The Blues will next take on Bournemouth in a Premier League match at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night.Tomorrow, the Blues head to Bournemouth! 👊 pic.twitter.com/AcbLeeCKJa— Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) January 29, 2019
Rocket Raccoon and War Machine better be awesome together in Avengers: Endgame. Marvel Studios The new trailer for Avengers: Endgame, which Marvel Studios released Thursday, offers a few more hints of our next trip to the Marvel Cinematic Universe on April 26.Thanos may have snapped half the population to dust in Avengers: Infinity War, but that doesn’t mean the fight is over. The trailer opens with a stranded-in-space Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) recording a message for his Earth-bound fiancee Pepper Potts, reminiscing about his first days as Iron Man and falling in love with her. (Still no sign of Pepper in the current timeline, however.) After the title card, the trailer ends with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) meeting Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), who isn’t fazed by his hammer tricks, as she smirks at the god.”I like this one,” he says, suggesting that the MCU powerhouses will get along just fine. TV and Movies Culture 4 Update: After an uproar over the lack of Danai Gurira’s (Okoye) name in the top billing, Marvel Studios released a new official poster. It kicks off a series of mostly black-and-white flashbacks to the various Avengers’ past adventures — like Steve Rogers’ pre-Captain America World War 2 life and the now destroyed Asgard — and the Snappening by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Fascinatingly, the only color we see in these parts is red (like the beginning of the first Endgame trailer).Hawkeye/Ronin and Black Widow sport a variety of haircuts in the color shots, hinting at either a fashion crisis or that we’ll be hopping to different points in the timeline. Hawkeye’s flashbacks include a look at him teaching his daughter how to shoot an arrow (presumably before she’s dusted and he goes dark?). Some publications have speculated this could instead be Kate Bishop, Hawkeye’s protege, as Marvel possibly introduces Young Avengers — but if you look closely in trailer at 0:38, there are other Barton family members in the background. Is it impossible to think Marvel would rewrite comic canon for a film? Absolutely not, but signs point to this being where Clint was pre-Snappening. (Quick, someone comb through all the released Endgame footage and let us know how wrong we are!)”The world has changed, and none of us can go back. All we can do is our best, and sometimes, the best that we can do, is to start over,” says the late Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) — a line she uttered in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Appropriately enough, we get a shot of Cap carrying her coffin. Marvel Studios We then see Cap, Nebula, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, War Machine, Iron Man (who clearly makes it home) and Black Widow in fancy, matching white Avengers outfits. Could they be preparing for a trip to space … or perhaps these are the rumored fancy suits for a trip to the Quantum Realm? 26 Photos Avengers: Endgame trailer takes you back to the start She should have been up there all this time. Interim president/CEO Raghu Rau will assume the role of vice chairperson.Shull, formerly CEO of the Weather Channel and a longtime Dish Network exec, comes on board after TiVo earlier this month announced plans to split its product and patent-licensing businesses into two independent companies. His appointment comes 11 months after Enrique Rodriguez stepped down as TiVo’s president and CEO just eight months after the ex-AT&T Entertainment Group exec took the job to join John Malone’s Liberty Global cable company as CTO.Rovi, a provider of entertainment metadata and related services, acquired TiVo for $1.1 billion in 2016 and adopted the DVR pioneer’s name. Both Rovi and legacy TiVo have a history of aggressively pursuing licensing deals with — and litigation against — pay-TV and video companies. Currently, TiVo is locked in a patent licensing dispute with Comcast. Popular on Variety On the product side, the company has continued to offer a line of consumer devices, but has built a much bigger business selling software and services to pay-TV operators as well as internet-video providers. About 22 million subscriber households worldwide use TiVo-based TV technologies, according to the company.Jim Meyer, TiVo’s chairman, touted Shull’s “strong track record of driving value creating strategic outcomes and operational transformations, most recently at the Weather Channel and before that at Dish… He also has significant M&A experience and is the right person to lead TiVo’s separation process, which we believe will result in significant value for our stockholders.”TiVo’s 2018 revenue dropped 16%, to $695.9 million, and it reported a net loss of $349 million (which included a $269 million goodwill impairment charge for its product division in the fourth quarter). On Thursday, the company slightly raised expectations for fiscal 2019 versus previous guidance, projecting revenue of $644 million-$660 million (versus $640 million-$654 million) and a loss before taxes of $72 million-$80 million (versus a net loss before taxes of $75 million-$87 million).Shull most recently served as the CEO of the Weather Channel cable network, acquired last year by Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios. While at the Weather Channel from 2015-18, Shull separated the company’s digital assets from its TV business, leading to the sale of the digital businesses to IBM in 2016.Prior to the Weather Channel, Shull worked at Dish and sister company EchoStar for 10 years in various roles, including EVP and chief commercial officer, SVP of programming, managing director of Asia Pacific, and VP of operations.
